The gentle fist is all about attacking the opponents chakra network and doing damage from the inside out. Even a regular hyuuga is capable of utilising this style efficiently as all that is needed is to emit chakra from the palms and channel it into the opponents body.

However, the elite of the hyuuga are capable of controlling their opponents chakra network by pressing the opening points, or tenketsu, which requires precise control to surgically insert chakra into a hole the size of a needle.

The elite of the hyuuga are also capable of using one of their most powerful jutsu, the Kaiten. Kaiten works by having the user emit chakra from every tenketsu in their body and rotating to deflect any attack on the user and arguably one of the most powerful absolute defenses in the manga.
