She would be able to heal herself faster if she didn't have the other kages to worry about.

This subject was speculated a lot and now we have a confirmation, along with other confirmations this new chapter brought.

And about Katsuyu... It seems that she is actually humongous. No one has probably ever summoned the whole slug since the part of Katsuyu which Sakura summoned was the same size as the Katsuyu part Tsunade summoned during Pain's attack.
And I believe there is still a LOT of Katsuyu left in the shikkotsu forest.

She didn't run out of chakra because she was fighting too long, it was because she was completely bisected. That's a fatal injury and any fatal injury drains chakra.

The manga panels show that she was replenished after Dan gave her chakra, but not fully.

Then a couple of chapters later, it was shown that she was bisected, then she told Katsuyu to bring the Kages to her, meaning that she knew their locations so it would dictate that she was the last to be taken down.
This would mean that they were strenuously fighting Madara, until they were ultimately defeated.

Remember she summoned a large scale Katsuyu, and according to Jiraiya, larger summonings require greater amounts of chakra, in which at that time, her chakra was limited.
