1. Itachi dead or alive would kill Nagato. Nagato was unable to walk. Even if Kabuto wasn't controlling him he would have died.
2. Chibaku Tensei is Futile against Multiple Yasaka's Magatama's like Itachi used against Kabuto
3. The Yata Mirror deflects ALL things including Shinra Tensei.
4. Nagato wasn't the only one called INVINCIBLE. Zetsu said that Itachi with the Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror is INVINCIBLE.
5. Itachi was able to easily sea a SANNIN'S 8 Headed Snake so Nagato's summons wouldn't be hard to seal or amatratsu would just do the job.
6. The Totsuka Blade can seal Gedo Mazo so Nagato's Dragon Soul Carrier is Useless
7. The Pretha Path absorbed too much Frog chakra from Naruto that it turned into a frog statue, how much Amateratsu do you think Nagato can absorb before he dies?
8. Itachi blinded every other possible line of sight for Nagato remember?
9. The Asura paths bombs are useless before Susano'o
10. Tsukuyomi is just OVERKILL! Itachi placed a Perfect Jinchuriki(Bee) in Tsukuyomi so what can Nagato do?

so it's safe to say that Itachi has the chakra to do all his jutsus. Another proof of Itachi's large chakra was in his fight against Sasuke. Even with the cursed seal, Sasuke had exhausted all his chakra but Itachi still had enough to summon his Susano'o.

Many people say that if Itachi could place genjutsu on Nagato he would have done it when they fought as Edos. This is a very good question but here's the answer. WHAT WOULD GENJUTSU BENEFIT ITACHI WHEN HE'S FIGHTING AGAINST AN EDO TENSEI? An Edo Tensei cannot die. Itachi saw it as pointless placing a genjutsu on someone that cannot die so he resorted to sealing instead. Again this was where Itachi used ONE Yasaka's Magatama to destroy Chibaku Tensei

that only a sharingan user with the same blood as him can break out of Tsukuyomi meaning only Sasuke, Fugaku(Itachi's dad) and Mikoto(Itachi's mum) Uchiha can break out of his genjutsu.

And Again, nagato fanboys say that Itachi's Sharingan is derived from the Rinnegan therefor Nagato cannot enter genjutsu, but this is wrong. If you have a Rinnegan but you can't unlock it's full power then you are weaker than a sharingan user who can unlock the sharingan's full power. Itachi reached the final stage of his sharingan with Susano'o and Izanami. Nagato who has had the Rinnegan for years is NO WHERE near Obito or Madara who haven't used it as much as him. Obito said his binding was more powerful than that of Nagato. Another proof is that Nagato controlled 6 paths and almost turned into a skeleton. Obito controlled 6 paths plus Gedo Mazo and was still battle ready. So Itachi's MS>Nagato's Rinnegan

A thread from 2 years ago, discussing this exact same concept. At that point, the general consensus was that it couldnt; now, everyone says it can break it. However, we really haven't had any big breakthroughs on Rinnegan advancement since then. I think we're all suffering from some bi-polar disease or something...

Even Jiraiya's genjutsu subdued one of Pains paths. Tsukuyomi's on an entirely different level of genjutsu, so I'd assume that it'd work. Id say its the closest thing the Rinnegan has to a weakness.
