Tsukuyomi mind control?

I was re-reading some chapter before I came across something. Prior to this I always assumed that tsukuyomi was used for torture as shown against Kakashi and Sasuke.

However in the battle where Itachi and Sasuke took on Kabuto Itachi mentions something intriguing.

Itachi said he would not only use Tsukuyomi to understand how to stop edo tensei but to also use it to control Kabuto. Before this I thought genjutsus used to control people were different from those used to torture them despite both types being used through the sharingan. I don't know whether this type of thread has been done before or not but what do you people think?

I think he meant torture. To ninjas it's an everyday thing, maybe they translated wrong. Only Kotoamatsukami was able to control people perfectly.

People say sasuke has Tsukuyomi which is debatable. Even if it is true then sasuke would use his right eye not left. So it is not the same thing.

i think itachi wanted to use tsukoyomi to get kabuto to talk like sasuke did to zetsu but kabuto closed is eyes that is why itachi had to use a jutsu that does not maybe need eye contact(izanami)so kabuto dit not even know he was already trapped in a genjutsu. I don't think tsukoyomi can control somebody fully but it can torture and make you spill the beans according to uchiha nagashi only kotoamatsukami can fully control a person(even without them know).

Just because one uses mangyekou to cast sharingan isn't enough evidence that tsukuyomi is being used. Besides sasuke used his left eye against zetsu not his right like most people say he uses when using Tsukuyomi.

Sasuke has this Technique as well, but in the last time we saw his tsukuyomi his ability to control the technique paled in comparison to Itachi.

Nah he can't. Besides it's the wrong eye. He used his right eye against killer bee and the cloud fodder but used the left eye against the zetsu and shee. Unless you are saying he has tsukuyomi in both eyes.

Now you are talking. A sharingan genjutsu is only tsukuyomi if time is under the casters control.
