Incorrect, anything with chakra that doesnt have senjutsu in it gets erased, physical items without chakra doesnt get erased. Hence, why taijutsu, bukijutsu, or kenjutsu would work. As well as Senjutsu

Gai's taijutsu is basically compressed air cannons, natural energy is present in all of the planet, in air, water etc
Natural energy is the one which makes jutsus immune to them
