Maybe the OP is right because simply transporting them would not cause a large chakra drain as Kaguya was almost exhausted after using it for a couple of times and she had like HUUGEEE chakra reserves. Obito on the other hand was able to travel without much effort, simply having sakura with her to refill his reserves. THE black portal could be transportation technique but the dimension changing itself was something else and not simply dimension changing as the OP has mentioned

Not at all. The technique itself was very exhaustive. Obito was in the verge of death, he could transport them only due the help of Sakura and Naruto's chakra.

Look at the chapter again, Sakura admited that Obito was done.
