"President Donald Trump’s stated response to a mass shooting at a Florida high school last month was initially broad in scope. But in recent days, he and his aides have begun slimming down their ambitions, with a particular focus now on shifting more blame onto video games.

On Thursday, the White House is planning to meet with envoys of the video game industry to discuss how violent imagery on their platforms may desensitize young people to firearms—and even train them to be more effective killers. Industry sources tell The Daily Beast that they are worried the session will be an ambush—an effort to scapegoat them for shootings in schools.

The meeting comes after weeks of internal White House wavering on gun-related policy items, with the president endorsing a Democratic gun control wish list on live television, only to have the White House walk it back after Trump’s closed-door meeting with the National Rifle Association shortly thereafter."

Trump has expressed his disdain for video-games before.

Right. That's why every other country with the same games and no guns has the same gun violence.

Wait...

Just a scapegoat to avoid attacking the actual problems.

It's an interesting scapegoat since time and time again, studies have found no correlation between violence and video-games. Meanwhile, the same can't be said for guns, yet that's the only thing that's not being blamed by the GOP.

If there was a blame game, people like Trump would platinum it with ease.

Its the parents fault for school shootings, kids get neglected all their life by their parents and video games happen to be there instead of drugs so of course they'll blame that instead of blaming the actual source of the problem because its easier and less dramatic.

Good for you. Do you want a gold star or something?

And just like with everything else that pertains to Trump, you give him a pass. Not a surprise.

I wouldn't mind a gold star actually. I'm just surprised you didn't know until now. You know... Since you're so obsessed with Trump and whatnot, i thought you'd be the first to know.

What are you, in kindergarten? Oh that's right, you dropped out.

And no, I just didn't feel like making a thread about it until now. But it's great that you're going off-topic as a way to defend Trump.

More bullshyt from the Deflector-in-Chief. I'm tired of hearing the same stupid excuse about video games causing people to be violent. I grew up as a small child playing gory fighting games and I still turned out alright. Ya know why? Because I knew fantasy from reality--any sane person would know this. A person never directly kills someone by the puppet strings of freaking video games, that's the dumbest shyt ever and a flat-out lie.

Sure, some killers might be influenced by violent games, but the games still won't execute the murders like they're a damn entity. These idiots don't know that people were always and still violent without the so-called evil force of video games.
Yeah and let's pretend to ignore that 99% of gamers never actually go out to slay people to death.
Every single time an individual does something wicked, these backward a**holes blame it on everything else but the individual.

He's right about the glorification.

People who undergo gun training learn to respect the guns but not all gun owners go through training.
Some guns can be procured by simply buying them, whether thru legal means or illegal.

But that is not all there is. There are those who are insane or mentally unstable that own guns, by that I mean they have access to guns and ammunition.

People are at fault here. People with complete disregard for consequences. There should be stricter gun control and that includes repetitive mental evaluation of gun owners.

Just like how nothing happened when Vice President Biden spoke out to blame video games and movies, I doubt anything will happen to video games now with Trump talking about it.

That tweet is pretty ironic, funny, and sad at the same time considering we never see him tweet against neonazi glorification and how it actually does create violence and tension. 2 more years though.

Gun games decrease violence: it enables the kiddies to understand that it's bad for human culture and progress: making them disdain from these types of thoughts more and more.
