True Story of Itachi (Why is everyone calling it a filler?)

I do not know why everyone is calling this a filler I mean Itachi passed his memories onto Sasuke so I think it would be classified as a Flashback of Itachi.

PS: I would also say this is Cannon material in some way...

I'd say its more in line with the manga but most of it is not canon unfortunately, but still a good filler compared to what we've got before.

This anime is filler. The novels weren't written by Kishi and anything that isn't a production of Kishimoto, the series's author is considered to be filler unless he specifically stated it is Cannon.

Like in the Last Naruto the Movie he took the backseat in the development of the movie.

Fair point. He supervised The Last and got a writing credit for Original Story by Kishimoto. These novels he just read and said it fits the story.
