There is no right or wrong answer here, people seek out their own justice and punishment by law is a form of revenge for the person breaking a law which themselves are created from moral perspectives agreed by the majority. Therefore my message is simply to question yourself and your morals as to whether they're truly your own, don't follow a law for the sake of following it even if it's convenient for you, atleast be a person with his own unique perspective, that's how society moves forward, when we have individuals and not sheep. There is nothing inherently right or just about laws to begin with.
