Which are better?
Treasured tools of the Sage of the Six Paths:

OR
The 3 sacred treasures:
Yata Mirror, Totsuka Sword and the Yasaka Magatama
???

Hmmm 3 sacred treasures because they don't require a lot of chakra as the treasured tools of the SO6P do.

Can you effectively use part of the latter 3 without Susanoo? Because they drain a piss load of chakra, and I have a hunch that if someone was to use them without Susanoo, the result would not be as good as what we've witnessed with Itachi. Just saying.

I have thought of this, as well, and came to the very same conclusion.

True but that wouldn't be a problem for ninja with a lot of chakra like Uzumaki's

Hmm idk. Kishi has much more explaining to do about the 3 tools. The Yata Mirror, Totsuka Sword and the Yasaka Magatama just happens to look apart of Itachi's Susano'o? What are the odds of that? Also, Oro was looking for the Totsuka Sword, how would he have used it if he found it anyway? So yeah, I also don't know that much about the 3 tools:confused:

I reckon Itachi realised it would be much more effective to use the items whilst using Susanoo, which is made up almost entirely of chakra. This may've directly reduced the amount of strain the items placed on his chakra supply, although the amount of chakra which was drained from Itachi via Susanoo and the weapons remained considerable.

I'm not sure about that last part. Just because he was looking for them doesn't mean he could use them. He was also looking for the snake cave place to go Sage, but found out his body wasn't suited for it.

I understand that this isn't relevant to the discussion, I just thought I'd point that out.

True I guess. But it still bugs me that the tools look like they were made for Itachi's Susano'o and the correct size. How would non-Uchiha shinobi use them?

Well the chakra drainage is worth it, Itachi has the best Susano'o because of those tools imo. Also, I would really like to see how Itachi came across those items or if they just came with his Susano'o....hmmmm

I really just want to see Itachi's entire life after leaving the Leaf. Would be sweet as an OVA, or a canon movie.

3 Sacred Treasures...

...assuming they dont use a hellova lotta chakra like the Sages tools do. Most of the Sages tools are used in sealing, while this is accomplished by the sword without any additional steps, just stab and seal. The mirror reflects anything--I'd rather have that defensive tool than a weapon used to use any of the 5 nature elements. You still have to master the use of it to use ANY technique. And the Sages tools are big as hell to be carrying around in a battle. FYI
