I'm having a difficult time doing my review of chapter 671, as just like in 670, a major translation error occurred. In 670, when it was first released, the translation from MP and MH read that Hagoromo and his brother sealed the Juubi inside of themselves. However, later on, the viz translation came out and stated they sealed it only into Hagoromo. It didn't end there however as the third translation I found returned to the initial statement while I recognized the mounds each were standing on with amulets.

I believed it was just a rare, radically contradicted translation mistake, but then, just a few moments ago I reread MH's revised translation of 671 and now it states that Instead of Hagoromo inscribing and leaving the Uchiha tablet, Indra and the Uchiha clan were in fact the ones who made it...:erm:

So I'm at a loss here. Is there a japanese translator on the site or someone who could direct me to one who could steer me in the right direction and give me a precise translation for both the aforementioned statements in these chapters?

Thanks.

I can get the raws up to 670 and then 671 next week, just tell me what you specifically want translating.

Thanks. I appreciate it. What I'd like to know is whether the juubi was sealed in both brother or just Hagoromo and if it was Hagoromo or Indra and the Uchiha who inscribed the tablet.

Hagoromo: We brothers fought the personification of the divine tree the juubi…\\
Hagoromo: In order to make up for the sins that our mother left behind… and sealed it within myself*\\

One point for the "inside us" of chap 670.

If you look at the setup they used to seal Juubi , it seems like it is a setup for a seal in 2 bodies or 2 mountains.

It's possible that they sealed Juubi in the 2 mountains and then they sealed it inside Hagoromo.

I'm also lost for the tablet , disapointing , and the "alien" thing , a more ambiguous word doesn't exist.
Kishimoto and the translators (great thanks for their work) put our imagination at work.

Not bad...

Hagoromo: Together with my brother, we fought an incarnation of the Shinju, the Juubi...

The next fragment is ambiguously spoken so there won't be an absolute answer until later, maybe. This is because words have been omitted and the style of speech has changed drastically.

Hagoromo: Then, we sealed it.

The pronoun "己" by itself doesn't distinguish itself as being singular or plural and can mean I or we (oneself/ourselves), and so, we look to context for implications. In which case, the brothers both took on the burden to repent their mother's sins and both went to fight it. For distinction to be omitted like this, it's probable that both brothers took half of the Juubi at that point.

As for 671, the raws haven't been released yet.

Gaaaaah! Lols. I'm all for critical thinking and teasing, by why couldn't Kishimoto just spill the beans there instead of leaving it open? Lols.

Thanks for the translation Blac.

From both Mangapanda and *********** we could assume that Hagoromo made the tablet as a warning but that the Indra and his descendants added in lines that only Uchiha could read. Sort of like modifications made on the bible. Certainly not beyond them since they killed each other for eyes.
