translating characters names

most of you people know how to translate characters names like naruto = ramen (i think) , well im writing my own story or manga and i want to know how to do it cause i want my character's names to have meaning.

please help me out here guys

I think Naruto is a name that he came up by himself, Sakura is supposed to mean light, brightness/cute or it was a flower's name or something like that. So all names I found from Naruto pretty much means something with their personalities.

Something I did notice is that there are names close to Kishi's characters name etc Minato. There is a name called Minako. So it's pretty obviously that he just changed some letters from original names.

Using google translate I have found the meaning of a lot of Japanese names.

Google my friend. Just google like "Japanese names" and it should appear a link that says like 2000 females or males names. There they have the names and as well the meaning of those to the right of the names.

(No virus detected so far for me at least xD)

I don't know some times it work. Another way is copy the text of names of characters that written in Japanese.And past it on the left box of google translate.You can use Naruto wiki to find Japanese text of characters.This will work for sure.
