*a flash bomb detonates in the middle of the forest clearing and a group of people run out of hiding to get into position. Its Godot the masked prosecutor and Pein the godly crew. Unfortunately they look rather silly trying to make an entrance like that while being visible the whole time. They are busy posing when they notice the light died out a long time ago*
Pein: He can see us.
Godot: Tch! What's a man have to live for if he can't make a smooth entrance?!

I can have my moments every once in while. Hey, new pupil. Before your Raiton training starts i need to know how much you know already. Tell me everything you can about the lightning element. Try to include its uses, forms, elemental strength and weakness, and related Kekkei Genkai.

I want to learn Lightning element to make my Katana Kousetsu stronger since i heard weapons can be combined with Lightning. I also do know that it is very effective against Earth and it is also quite effective to pierce through walls. Well i heard once about Lightning as an Armor but i think only The Raikages from Kumogakure are capable of this. That is everything i know so far"

Lightning Release, or Raiton, is one of the 5 basic elements. It is the most dynamic of the elements, producing lightning by vibrating chakra at high-frequency. As a result it is difficult to control and far slower than natural lightning or but can be very destructive in a concentrated state.
Being energy-like allows it to pierce solid materials like earth with ease but is much less effective on insulators like wind. Non-concentrated lightning is typically in the form of electricity, capable of shocking people and paralyzing their bodies. It this form water may be electrified for a wider range of attack. Weapons imbued with lightning exhibit the same characteristics, such as higher piercing ability and shocking on contact.
Ninja from Kumogakure typically specialize in raiton techniques. Examples are the raikages' lightning armor that not only protects them but works internally to boost their speed and reaction time tremendously. Another is Black Lightining, an advanced form of lightning.
Some Kekkei Genkai involve raiton as well like Storm (water+lightning) and Swift (wind+lightning)

How does it actually work to merge a weapon or blade with lightning element"
Well, there are several jutsu that accomplish that by channeling raiton chakra into the blade and producing lightning around it. Those will come a bit later though.
For now let me tell you how things work around here. You'll be performing the jutsu i give you with as much detail as possible to demonstrate your understanding of the technique and its inner workings like applying nature transformation and shape manipulation. Your targets are usually Pein and their summons so you can show the jutsu's effects. Feel free to ask if you ever have a question for me. Onto the first jutsu!
Since you've never molded raiton chakra before try acquiring a strong mental image of the nature of lightning (a description of lightning's characteristics) and mold a portion of your chakra to mimic that nature. Once you're used to it, transfer the chakra to your hand and covert it into small lightning bolts released at your target. Try shocking me.
