Like Shigure said, it's just like the first earth jutsu. I assume that he had you make pillars? This is pretty much the same thing. Just focus your earth chakra in the ground, and then make it rise up in the form of a staff. When you're focusing the chakra in the ground, be sure to make it in a cylindrical shape so that it rises up in the proper form.

xd Yeah, I'm one of those annoying senseis who makes you do stuff at least twice in most occasions. Only when I'm feeling lazy or don't want to describe the jutsu any further do I let you go on in anything less (and I'm feeling a bit lazy right now with all of these students, so yeah...).

Alright, well focus your chakra into the ground below you and channel it to make it in the form of fine sand. To do this, focus your chakra and then make the earth below you far less dense than it is now, to the point where it is more grainy (hence, fine sand). Continue doing this as you move through the earth, as though you were eroding through the ground, making each part of the earth in front of you less dense until you are capable of moving through it.
