With regards to training, they would not improve a very large amount from the time of VOTE 2. What training stimulus is there in existence that could help them increase their abilities even more exponentially?
Sasuke could master his Rinnegan, but otherwise, he's pretty much capped. Naruto's already mastered all aspects of Kurama and 6 Paths Sage Mode. The only way I could see them improving from a power scale perspective is going to some DBZ-esque wasteland and blowing up mountains over and over, as most of their deadly jutsus are just too destructive to use in any regular environment. Additionally, exhausting their chakra reserves as a stress is basically out of the question since their reserves are so massive and would require colossal jutsu usage to deplete, so max chakra would likely stay almost the same. That makes finding a stressful training stimulus very difficult and impractical.
Therefore, it's more likely that they would have lighter, not-so-intense training sessions, relative to their maximum capacities. This would result in very modest improvements, if any. One might argue that their chakra control capabilities may have some room for improvement, but surely not much. They may develop newer, unique jutsus with their time as opposed to strictly training to become more powerful, but those new jutsus would likely not be as destructive as their most potent (i.e., Indra's Arrow, TB Rasenshuriken).
I would argue that both probably spent more time meditating or studying, with Naruto likely spending more time with the latter, as he undoubtedly had a lot to learn to become Jounin and eventually Hokage, as Kakashi pointed out in the anime. Their abilities did increase to an extent, of course, but the improvements would not have been drastic. An exception would obviously be Sasuke's Rinnegan mastery, and perhaps Naruto learned to form Rasenshuriken much easier, as we saw him chunk a swiftly-made one quite effortlessly while in base form in The Last.
All right, rip me a new one.
