Yo so I'm kind of worried I may have triggered a red light camera. So basically, I came to a stop and was about to go straight. The light turned red so I stopped and everything was fine up till now. For some reason I was fixated on the left turn signal arrow and thought that it turned green for me and so I began driving straight only to realize that it was a left turn. I then backed out in shame. I heard that cameras usually flash if you get caught but I don't remember if there was a flash. Also does the traffic signal pattern change if a car is detected because the pattern might of changed (not sure). Like after I made that mistake the light should have turned green for me but I stayed red for a another cycle.is that some sign that it detected me and is it possible for cameras to detect that you went into the intersection during a left turn since it would be hard to differentiate between the cars turning left and me going straight alittle bit into the intersection? Like wont the camera just think I was going for a right turn since I was in a lane that can also take a right?

After the camera takes your photo, the state mails you a copy of the photo, along with an explanation of your citation and a fine amount.

So, if you don't get anything in the mail after a prolonged amount of time, you're golden.

Don't worry until you actually receive a ticket, if you ever receive one.

I've done that many times and kept going straight. Haven't been caught once. Maybe I'm just lucky. It also depends on how long the interval was between the light turning red and you passing it (maybe stopping later) is.

Even if you get a ticket if you didn't actually go through the light I.E. pulled up enough the camera assumed you were going and took a pic, you can just contest it.
