I have seen a lot of people talking various stuff about this manga and anime, so I am interested in your pov's on it... Is it worth reading/watching? What is it exactly about?

It is a pretty decent anime in my opinion . However, most people on base are complaining about the childish content and plot of Fairy Tail . Fairy Tail wins all fights with 'nakama power'. If you dont mind such things much , then I am sure you will like it .

I like it, but many people here like the "mature" shit, which is still childish considering its fictional. But i think its fun to read and not to take extremely serious. Good characters, good supernatural abilities, the story is mediocre and the art is very fan serviced. I would give it s a 7/10 for both the anime and the manga.

luffy from one piece nearly always looses his first battle with a "boss" but then wins in the next battle

Fairy Tail is a story about mages that uptake tasks to make a living.
The main characters are a Fire Mage who uses an ancient "Dragon Slayer" magic, a girl who uses Celestial Spirits (summons based on constellations like Leo, Picis, Aquarious, Virgo), an Ice mage who makes objects with it like a lance, shield, cannon, etc., and a mage who swaps her "armors" and swords to fight.
I usually approach it with the "Disney Movie" approach. As typically your main characters and a few others kind of have the "heroes always win" event. The story lines aren't honestly bad, and some are rather good IMO.
If you like fan service "AKA any female character (and 90% of Erza's armors), love magic that's diverse and interesting, and don't mind the heroes winning...a lot... Than its pretty good.

In my opinion it has potential to be "the big 3" material when Naruto would end, however there is a bit too much which I dislike:
- Most of the big fights are won randomly, for example random power-ups and pure plot. I certainly wouldnt't recomend anybody to watch the filler episodes since that denies any form of logic.
- No real character development.
- Powerscaling makes no sense
- Some characters should have died, but myseriously survived, for example a cat who survives a bomb explosion which is strong enough to wipe out an entire city and some other persons, but I dont want to spoil too much.
- Too much fan-service, sometimes one chapter is completely filled with fan-service. It isnt even worth to look at it anymore, since you have seen it hundreds of times already.
If you like friendship/nakama power and random power-ups then you'll like fairy tail. But some parts are good, it's just that the plot does seem to be thought over, and the main character gets alot of random power-ups once he gets into a sticky situation.
many dislike it because it is not ''dark'' enough and therefore too childish, i personally think that at this point ''dark'' is slowly getting more childish than ''non-dark'' because if it isn't dark ppl b**** about it as it ''is not realistic'', which is just weird since we are talking about mangas with supernatural abilities and worlds
FT isn't that high of a quality manga but ut is fun to read and I enjoy reading it every friday, it doesn't take long and it's fun

It's a good anime/manga, but it's childish and the manga has a very good "plot".
No one dies usually, I think maybe 5-10 have died in the entire series so far. The best way to watch Fairytail is to not take it serious, it's like the opposite of Death Note or some other serious anime.

I personally enjoy Fairy Tail, but it isn't in any way better than Naruto, Bleach or One Piece, because the plot is a little silly.
Though the current arc is pretty good.
