Tōshirō is short, with turquoise eyes and short, spiked, white hair, which tends to draw attention whenever he walks amongst civilians and normal, non-chakra-using shinobis. He wears a standard sleeveless captain's haori with a green sash around his shoulders, held together by a round, star-like clip. The sash holds his Zanpakutō's sheath in place on his back and is tied to it at either end. He sometimes walks around in his tabi. He is relatively young as well, and has the appearance of a child. In some instances, he wears a black, short-sleeved, golf shirt and gray pants. He also wore the uniform of Karakura High School.
Before Tōshirō was a fully-fledged Ninja, his hair was not as spiky, with only a few spikes here and there. He also wore a standard shinigami outfit, but with the addition of the 10th Division's insignia on the left breast of his outfit.
After training for an unspecified amount of time in preparation to fight the war against the intruders attempting to gain control of Akatsuki, Tōshirō's hair appears to have grown longer, his fringe now reaching down to his eyes despite being held up by a newly acquired bandanna. He also appears lankier than before, with his robes loosely hanging off of his body.

Hitsugaya is generally mature and serious, in contrast to his free-spirited partner, Rangiku Matsumoto. Despite their personality differences, he and Rangiku seem very close. Tōshirō is shown to be easily annoyed by others goofing off or drawing unneeded attention to themselves, as shown when he leads a team of shinobi into the Ninja school. Hitsugaya hates anything that he deems childish as well as being described as something close to a child, such as an elementary school child. He is overly protective of Momo Hinamori, due to the fact that they were old childhood friends. Hitsugaya dislikes summer and warm weather in general.
Tōshirō's favorite foods are watermelon and amanattō. He does not like dried persimmons. During his childhood in West Rukongai, he was so skilled with spinning tops that he became the local undefeated champion. He works very hard, but his motive seems to be that if he finishes quickly, he can return to his afternoon nap. He believes in the saying "children who sleep well, grow well," and hopes to grow quickly, a wish shared by his subordinates. Naturally, they do not voice this fact in front of him, for even regularly practicing this adage for so long, he did not really grow in height.
Hitsugaya is usually joked about by many of the other shinobi in his village as well as by his enemies. Hitsugaya has developed a cold attitude toward most people; he tolerates these jokes and goes on with his duties. Although he has shown anger towards jokes, he doesn't take action against whomever insulted him unless they are his enemies. The only thing he cannot tolerate is not being addressed as "Captain Hitsugaya," or an inappropriate use of his name, as he worked very hard for the title, so he gets angry when not addressed as such. He does not address any other officer with their title, only their last names. The only person that actually calls him by his given name is Ichigo, who is constantly reminded to address him properly, and Hinamori, who is the only person allowed to get away with it. Hinamori tends to call him "Hitsugaya-kun" and both she and Ukitake occasionally use "Shirō-chan" (シロちゃん) — a nickname meaning "Whitey" in reference to his hair — in both cases without any repercussion. In addition, Karin and her friends call him by his first name and they are never given any rebukes for it. Jūshirō Ukitake often gives Hitsugaya candy and other food because "Jūshirō" and "Tōshirō" sound similar and because they both have white hair, making them both "Shirō-chan."

Background Information
History
Toshiro was born into the Yuki Clan. Ever since he was a little kid, Toshiro has been a lone wolf. His parents had died while he was still a small kid and left him in charge of a monk. Toshiro didn't like his new home and often wondered where his parents were. The monk did his best to comfort him but could never get through to him but he could not take away the sadness in the boys heart. Had he failed? Was there no hope for this boy? The monk seeked counsel from his friend on how to help the boy. The friend gave him a solution that their boys should meet and be friends. So they brought the two boys together and they met.
Boy: (Smiling) Hi my name is Ryūji Suguro. But you can call me Bon.
Toshiro: ........
Bon: What's wrong?
Toshiro: ........
Toshiro went up to the boy and whispered in his ear, "You are weak." With that said, Toshiro punched Bon hard in the stomach and then started walking back to his room. Bon fell to his knees and grasped his stomach. He yelled to Toshiro as he felt the terrible pain in his stomach. "You are wrong. You are the one who is weak because you cannot let go of your hatred." He stood up while clutching his stomach, barely able to stand on his own. Toshiro looked at the boy and gasped at the boys determination and wisdom. Then he gave an angry look at him and proceeded to walk away when he tripped on one of his toys. Bon could be heard laughing loudly in the background. Toshiro got up more angrier than ever and charged back at Bon and the two began to fight. The two monks laughed and knew the two would get along just fine. Afterwards the two made up and apologized to each other. The two then became real good friends and even joined the academy together. They passed together and went on a couple of missions together once they had become Genin. Konoha had been a good place to them all those years and in the process made many friends and allies. But when Rin had left the village and Bon had decided to leave as well, the two decided to leave together. However the two came at a crossroads once reaching the port in the Land of Fire. Bon was about to set sail to Kirigakure when Toshiro decided that he would not go. The two argued about it but eventually Bon came into reason and accepted his friends wish. So as Bon slowly faded into the distance, still waving to his friend, Toshiro cried because it would be a while until the two would meet.
Toshiro made his way to Iwagakure, the land of his ancestors. He had gathered intelligence for a year now and finally became able to pursue his dreams even though it meant leaving everything behind. He traveled for many days and along the way met many friends and battled many tough opponents. When he finally came to Iwa, he talked with the Kage about his situation and he was allowed entry. Though he kinda had to start from the bottom again, Toshiro had no qualms as this was his chance to prove himself. In time he became a respected captain and lead Iwa to many victories. At his side stood new allies and many lives he was responsible for. Over time he received several letters from his friend and how his life was and the two kept a good communication between them. Though far away, the two set up an academy on each side to help teach students about how to fight and be a better shinobi. Toshiro became quite respected and known that it reached the ears of the remaining Yuki Clan members.
After his stay at Iwagakure for several months, Toshiro felt the need of adventure and decided to take a short vacation. He left the village and headed towards the Bloody Village Hidden in the Mist. Although he's forged close ties with numerous villagers from Iwagakure, he assured them he would be back. However, he did not leave empty-handed as his stay in Iwagakure allowed him mature and understand things better than he did before. Soon after, Toshiro was called to a meeting with the Yuki Clan in Kiri. After some time, the clan welcomed the young ice user into their clan from which Toshiro had been born out of. They explained his heritage to him and he soon discovered his family. During the timespan he spent learning from his people, he grew tremendously in terms of strength and intelligence. He diligently progressed in his training and soon enough, transformed into an exceptional shinobi who would become a big asset to Iwa when he returned. With his time now spent, he headed back to Iwa with a renewed sense of purpose and an indomitable will.

Suiton | Water Water is a rather versatile element, probably the most versatile of the five elements. Toshiro has a great liking for this versatility and the many possibilities he could explore with the water element. To expand his knowledge and uses of water, he trained extensively in the element. His training paid off when he eventually discovered a way to perform all water techniques with a single handseal. Futon | Wind Toshiro also has a knack for wind techniques and most often used them in battle, having it one of his favorite elements. It symbolized peace and freedom, both of which were ideals that he's always imagined as a child, and as a grown man. It's soothing sounds, yet powerful attacks was what sparked his interest. He was able to master it to a level where he can perform all wind techniques faster than that of a regular shinobi. Ototon | Sound After completing a misison, Toshiro was given a new power, Sound release, from Galen. It is one of his most favorite element due to its ability to not only induce powerful illusions, but its powerful offensive usages and versatile supplementary usages. Although he performs it as any normal sound user can, he is frequently seen utilizing the element in practice. |

Genjutsu | Illusionary Arts Toshiro was easily influenced, even as a young adult. During his stay in Akatsuki, he was forced to get along with Genjutsu users such as Barney and Isabella. He liked the deceptive nature of illusions, and its creative applications in battle. Through practice and observations, Toshiro would learn to specialize in Genjutsu and utilize it skillfully in battle Order of the Warrior Monks "Masters of the style gain a stance known as "The Phantom Warrior", which is only the use of Sōhei no Junban through hovering staffs via Manipulate Advancing Blades (this "stance" is only available to specialists of the style and requires the use of the technique beforehand)" Toshiro is a specialist of the fighting style and has the ability to activate the "Phantom Warrior" stance, of course with the activation of the Manipulate advancing blades beforehand and is a passive trait, after activation. Panda Summoning Pandas are Toshiro's favorite summoning creatures. He uses them scarcely in battle due to their power, but when he is faced with an opponent that is overwhelmingly powerful, he counts on the help of the Pandas. He is a proficient Panda master and as such, he has gained access to the technique Panda Illusionary Arts: The Revenge of the Sleeping Madness, being able to call upon its powers in battle. Ice Ring; Hyorinmaru Toshiro Hitsugaya learned how to utilize the Hyorinmaru Ice weapon from Akisha, perhaps one of the strongest and most skilled Ice user. Type: Supplementary Range: N/A Chakra Cost: 40 Damage points: N/A Description: A sword that has been passed down through Yuki clan for ages. It was broken before, in the war where the Yuki Clan almost became extinct. The sword is said to be made out of the heart of a special meteor that fell in the village. The meteor was as cold as ice, and had all the properties of ice. The Yuki Clan took the meteor, and forged a sword out of the core of this heavenly rock. As the sword was formed, it gleamed heavily and continued to send out a soft blue light. The user of this sword gets a +5 damage point boost on every Ice Release jutsu used, as well as slowly freezing anything it comes in contact with. Of course not the wielder, considering it must be one of the Yuki Clan to wield this. The sword also comes with a most secret technique. Once per battle, the user can channel Hyouton chakra through the sword and let a spear extend from it, up till mid range (much like Chidori Eiso). The second way to channel Hyouton chakra through it gives the user the ability to send out a wave of ice from the tip of the sword. (The same as Hitsugaya when he swings his sword in Bleach) This wave can be used as a shield from incoming jutsus. Note: The spear is formed as rapidly as Chidori Eiso, but can only be used once per battle. Note: The "Wave of Ice" can only be used twice and defend up to A-rank attacks. Note: The "Wave of Ice" counts as on of the 3 jutsus used per turn. Note: Only one of the Yuki clan can wear this sword (especially Wesobi). |
