now behold the most grievous one, SCAPHISM

The famous Greek philosopher Plutarch skafizmas first mentioned as a torture instrument used in Persian, which became very popular during the Middle Ages. Prisoners of war, criminals and other "bad guy" was forced to eat honey and drink milk. These two combination food causes severe diarrhea. Honey has also used to smear the victim's crotch and armpits. Then the naked man was tied to the boat, and thus starts to fly in a small pond or lake. The result - diarrhea and honey smeared on the body to attract large teams such as insects, are simply insects were eating victim's body, and then inside victim began to lay their eggs, to reproduce
This one definitely gave me the creeps...

They are all very good methods of torture but in my opinion mental torture is best

grab the victim's family ei mother, father or any siblings and torture/rape them in front of the victim or torture the victim for a year then give him a puppy for another year then kill the dog in front of him

The only problem with scaphism is that delirium would typically set in after a few days so the victim does not fully comprehend the torture

Second is (got this from wiki)

[Pitchcapping refers to a form of torture used against suspected rebels during the period of the Irish Rebellion of 1798, most famously on Anthony Perry, one of the leaders of the Wexford Rebels.
Process

The process involved pouring hot pitch, or tar (mainly used at the time for lighting purposes), into a conical shaped paper "cap", which was forced onto a bound suspect's head, allowed to cool, then rapidly removed, taking with it a portion of the suspect's skin and tissue. Less elaborate versions included smearing a cloth or piece of paper with pitch and pressing onto the head of the intended victim.

The torture was usually preceded by the crude shearing of the victim's hair/scalp. The effect on the skull of this controlled form of local boiling somewhat resembles scalping, earlier known as a practice used on natives of the North American colonies by resident American Indians. Pitch has long, even in antiquity, been used (like other hot liquids, even melted metal) to pour into a victim's orifices. However, both those techniques were usually faster and often lethal, so less suitable as torture proper, rather as capital punishment.]

But remember the most terrible, intractable, legacy of torture is the killing of desire - that is , of curiosity, of the impulse for connection and meaning-making, of the capacity for mutuality, of the tolerance for ambiguity and ambivalence. For these patients, to know another mind is unbearable. To connect with another is irrelevant. They are entrapped in what was born(e) during their trauma, as they perpetuate the erasure of meaning, re-enact the dynamics of annihilation through sadomasochistic, narcissistic, paranoid, or self-deadening modes of relating, and mobilize their agency toward warding off mutuality, goodness, hope and connection. In brief, they live to prove death. And it is this perversion of agency and desire that constitutes the deepest post-traumatic injury, and the most invisible and pernicious of human-rights violations......

so to me mental torture is best, leave them alive otherwise its just prolonged murder and not torture

Slide a glass rod inside the male urethra. Make victim watch porn. Place penis on hard surface. Hit with blunt object.

Place subdued victim face down, in supine position. Insert hair dryer into victim's anus. Turn hair dryer on.
