Yes but Minato only sealed half of kyuubi inside naruto and minato fought Kyuubi at its full strength head on as did Madara.

Ok well here is my list and reasons why I think people are there. I'm not going to give numbers I'm instead going to give tiers or levels because that is the only fair way of doing it.
S06P - We don't know much about him but he had the Jubi, and a better form of rinnegan where he could use Izanagi without any side effects, he is the best because of his unlimited chakra and his weapons and ability to use any jutsu.
Madara - Right now he can teleport, has the rinnegan, the sharingan, and has control of most of the bijuu. Because of that he jumps ahead of the other people and is right behind the SO6P.
The next tier includes Minato, Itachi, and Nagato. They are right below Madara because one v. one they are next to unbeatable. They each have some sort of absolute defense and an insane offense. In my opinion these three can really only be beaten by another one of these three or someone above them.
Naruto, Bee, Sasuke, and Kabuto are in the next tier. Naruto and Bee are super powerful and have a ton of chakra but they don't have as many defensive capabilities as the people above them and so I can't see them consistently winning against any of them. Sasuke is here because of the many powerups given to him by Itachi and Madara. Kabuto is here because of his IWR and the fact that he can regenerate now like Oro, plus he still has some tricks up his sleeve.
After those incredible people above comes the people that are insanely strong but are one dimensional or the famous ones that we know nothing about. This tier includes Gaara, A, Hiruzen, Hashirama, Tobirama, Jiraiya, Oro, and Kisame. These people all have something about them that makes them unique but because of weaknesses to a specific type of jutsu they aren't able to beat the people in the tiers above. Hashirama, Hiruzen and Tobirama we don't know very much about and what we do know isn't enough to rank them in the tiers above. Going off of their reputations though they definitely deserve to be ranked with super strong people like Oro and Jiraiya and A.
That is my list for strongest people, this is in terms of one v. one battles of course. If you have any comments agreeing or disagreeing just post.

Strongest??? Just raw force??? Who can lift more weight???who do you think are the top ten strongest naruto characters. what do you think
Wouldn't made more sense if you had ask - Who's the most "Powerful Characters" base on the information that the Masashi Kishimoto gave us by the anime/manga story line and by the Naruto Databook???
My top 10, based on what I saw and read until now;
. Minato - Based on the story line, and the author confession, he's the most powerful character in the Naruto World. Speed/Hand Seals/Intelligence/Ninjutsu made him the most complete and powerful ninja in Naruto World. Not my words, Masashi Kishimoto words.
. Naruto - Main character and his power is increasing in every manga issue.
. Madara/Tobi - Just 2 ninjas were capable to defeat/injure him, the 1º and 4º Hokage. Besides, his Space–Time Jutso make him very fast and strong in battle. Furthermore, with story-line at this moment I assume or presume, he have 8 Nature Type Elements.
. S6P - We don't know much about this character, only smithereens of information given by Kishi. But base on the story-line he was very powerful, not because he created ninjutsu (just because you create something doesn't mean you are the best on it), but because he defeat the 10-Tails and creating (supposable) the moon where he in-prison the 10-tails Beast using the Chibaku Tensei.
. Itachi and Jiraiya - This is easy, according to the 3º Databook this 2 characters were the must powerful at the time in the story-line. 35.5 points each. Itachi was created to seem a genius by the author, but he had to have a flaw, he had a disease, maybe cancer. Jiraiya wasn't a genius, but he had allot of strength and allot of knowledge in ninjutsu.
. A/Fourth Raikage - Perhaps the strongest (brute force) in the Naruto series, and one of the fastest.
. Kakashi - Many people putted the 3º Hokage in there list, but according to Kishi (3º Databook) Kakashi was more powerful then the 3º Hokage. And this book was written way before Kakashi awaken his MS.
So, Kakashi is in my list, because he his in fact one of the most skilled and intelligent ninjas created by Kishi. Awaken his MS only by pure talent and training, created the chidori at the age of 13, the same age he became a jõnin, and graduated way sooner in the ranks then Itachi. Besides, he control/use 4 Nature Type of Elements. A character that in my point a view, the author gave a flaw (lake of nature stamina) so he couldn't became more powerful then the main character. If you take stamina out of the equation, Kakashi would be without a doubt, top 5 most powerful ninja ever.
. Sasuke - Every main character have his Nemesis, Naruto's nemesis is Sasuke. As stronger one gets, the other reaches him quickly. So, if Naruto is super/mega powerful now, we need to assume that Sasuke will be at his level when they have there final fight.
. Nagato - We never saw him at is prime, but assuming the amount of power and resembles to the S6P that Kishi gave him, Nagato would be at is prime, definitely one of most powerful characters in the Naruto Word.
That's my top 10, base in the information that I got, not base on merely speculation.

I gotta say that everyone who says that Minato would be able to defeat current Madara is delusional. Current Madara is pretty much the perfect shinobi. He was hard to kill earlier, but now combination of his s/t jutsu, Shinra Tensei, jutsu absorbing ability and Izanagi on top of that is making him practically untouchable, not to mention he has powerful offence as well. In conlusion: Minato wouldnt stand a chance against current Madara.
