Makarov has more powerful magic , but fairy tail does involve punch ups too , so gildarts with one hit to the face would win , and gildarts can probably use fairy law to counter fairy law , and with more magic power and a stronger, younger body his is probably gonna annihilate Makarov's fairy law

that was BEFORE gajeel became the iron-shadow dragon slayer , they are now equal again , actually... Gajeel>Natsu because he can become a shadow and therefore unharmed by fire or lightning

We haven't seen Gildarts use Fairy Law so we can't assume he can, And Makarov can become GIANT! One stomp Gildar'ts is dead.

I would say they are equal or Natsu is a bit stronger as Natsu has eaten flames of a God and Lightning Flame Mode Natsu is probably more powerful than Iron Shadow Dragon Gajeel as Natsu is faster and physically stronger and more powerful.

Blue Note is a member of Grimoire Heart the guy that owned Natsu and Cana but lost to Gildarts.
