i searched for this and surprisingly, i found no thread about it so here it goes.. 
just as the title suggests, what are your top choices of naruto or naruto shippuuden openings and endings? WHY? it could be because of the video, the meaning of the song, the band/person who sang it or just because you like it! just indicate if your list comes in no particular order or not.
here are the titles for easy reference:
here's mine! no particular order!
OPENINGS:
1. Sign by FLOW -- there's no denying that the it's one of saddest songs ever in naruto. T.T it's about acceptance and letting go. and then there's goes the video. jiraiya dying, naruto crying and the uchiha brothers fighting to death. T.T
2. Blue Bird by Ikimonogakari -- the repetitive aoi aoi ano sora part is kinda off but the rest of the song is ok. ikimonogakari is also one of the best bands out there.
3. Tomei Datta Sekai by Motohiro Hata -- it's the vid i really like on this one. it's all about pain and causing pain (i guess). jiraiya appearing in the first part is also touching T.T
4. Kanashimi wo Yasashisa ni by Little by Little -- i like the seemingly auto tuned voice of the singer. that's it. haha!
ENDINGS:
1. Mayonaka no Orchestra by Aqua Timez -- aquz timez is my favorite japanese band. it's the first time naruto ever got a song from this awesome band!
2. Harmonia by Rythem -- it's got something to do with sakura and ino dancing. lol. it also has a nice and serene tone that calms any person who hears or maybe just me.
3.Wind by Akeboshi -- i really like the lyrics of this song. together with the video of this song, it depicts naruto's first pain: being alone.
4. Nagareboshi by Home Made Kazoku -- one of the songs i like just because i like it.
5. Michi To You All by Aluto -- i really like the tune and just about everything about this song.. the vid is also kinda cute.
6. For You by Azu -- so far, it's one of the songs that has the best vids ever. i really like how the sannin and team 7 are very similar. also, seeing them so cute and innocent (expecially orochi and sasuke!!!) makes me forget about the bad things that happened between them
7. Kimi Monogatari by Little by Little -- i just like the drawings
