You say hype isnt a technique but list hashirama? who basically all hype? we have never actually seen him in combat , madara used his jutsu but on his behalf it's still only hype and Madara's feat..

the manga saying he could create a forest in an instant
or saying he could he could heal without handseals etc
saying he restrained the kyuubi is no different than saying Hiruzen knew all the jutsu in the leaf..

why is hashirama there if you're stating hype doesn't count?

A Feat is a noteworthy or extraordinary act or achievement while hype (in this case) is basically an ingenious or questionable claim.

It is a fact that hashirama defeated Madara at the valley of end, ergo, it's safe to say that he was stronger at the time being that Madara himself admitted defeat.

@ bold: Can't be hype, or you would be saying that Madara is a lier. Am specifically using madara simply because he was Hashirama only opponent during the referred fight. What you say, is not true.

How did you come by this? He has 30+ Edo's at his disposal and he's below itachi?

I can't really see him beating anyone above him execept (maybe) itachi, but i think I could go anyway

It is fact that hashirama defeated madara but it isn't a feat since we haven't SEEN the fight..just heard about it in tales, in legends etc...

SO6P Defeating the juubi is a hype feat.... anything we haven't seen is hype....

You've put in some effort, but the moment I realised that you listed Guy above Hiruzen and Tobirama just because you believe "hype isn't a technique" was the moment this thread became a fail. Do you expect Kishi to write the manga in such a detail that the history and feats of every character is shown? stop being a clown!

Hype is used in the manga to justify a characters strength (usually one that has died) without really needing to show it. It's just a common tool used by many illustrators because without it the manga will just drag and eventually disjoint from the main plot.

Other than that, most of your top 10 is actually accurate in terms of who is there, but their placings are all wrong. I personally think Obito takes the current #1 spot. Since I don't involve Edo's in lists, I reckon it's safe to say he has surpassed the EMS Madara that fought Hashirama (for those wanting to argue otherwise you're more than welcome to).

So yeah something along the lines of

#1 - Obito
#2 - Hashirama
#3 - EMS Madara
#4 - Nagato (healthy)
#5 - Naruto
#6 - Kabuto
#7 - Sasuke
#8 - Muu
#9 - Onoki
