:/ If Itachi would have not been placed upon the task of putting his clan in check, leaving the village, he would have been so much more then what he currently is. He could have went on a mission of finding Tsunade in which could have had a chance of healing him of his internal injury so I am going with my boy Itachi on this one.

My top ten shinobi list
No Edo's, and this list based on what we are seeing right now .
1.Sage of six paths- Easy 1st, discovered ninjutsu, mastered the Rinnegan better then anybody which means he could control all 5 elements and all the paths jutsu ( deva path for ex. ). Was able to beat and become the ten tails jinchuriki.
2. Hashirama- Had Mokuton and some amazing jutsu's, very smart in battle as well if you dont agree then how did it look knowing he used his wood dragon to catch the Bijuu Bomb and throw it right back. How about his shinsuusenju,
3. Madara- Also another obvious, even though he was unable to beat Hashirama he was still a amazing shinobi and i believe he is much smarter then Hashirama, Putting the Kyuubi in the Susanoo armor was something nobody could have though of, Perfect mastery of fire style jutsu's and His EMS makes him a definite 3rd place.
4. Obito- With MS in one eye and Rinnegan in the other makes him a amazingly strong shinobi, His most strongest jutsu Kamui also puts him in this spot. Able to use the Rinnegan very good and has great control of his MS makes him a threat to any shinobi.
5. Naruto- With his BM activated makes him brilliant, has great chakra control and also the Bijuu Bomb in human form, His speed is faster then anybody else, best user of the rasengan(giant rasengan,rasenshuriken,etc) and shadow clone jutsu, also has SM which increase his physical abilities.
6. Sasuke- EMS which gives him Susano'o, tsukuyomi,and Amaterasu with out blindness or harm to the body. Great at taijutsu as well and very intelligent in fighting, one of the best lighting style users as well as fire style.
7. Nagato- With great control on the Rinnegan he was able to destroy Konoha with his six paths of pain, and even gave Naruto one hell of a battle Naruto almost losing but the kyuubi came to his rescue .
8. Minato- Considered the yellow flash there is no doubt With his strongest jutsu FTG there is probably no real counter to in other then you have to be very fast as well, personally i think of him as the smartest shinobi in battle ever , creater of rasengan and also has SM in his arsenal ( Fukasaku mentioned how Naruto surpassed his predecessors then later showed an image of jiraiya and Minato behind naruto showing that even minato had SM).
9. Itachi- Great genjutsu user, as well as ninjutsu and taijutsu,also considered to have the reasoning of an Hokage, his records speak for themselves, Graduated from academy at 7, obtained sharingan at 8, became Anbu at 12, then at the age of 13 became Anbu captain.
10. 3rd Raikage- best lighting user, his physical feats are unmatched, being able to fight a whole army for 3 days and 3 nights just for him comrades to escape but also able to literally get a tie with a bijuu the 8 tails is something amazing.

You can't tell me anyone can beat current Madara by themself. Noone. Not Naruto, Not Itachi, Not Oro, Not Sasuke, Not Minato, Not even Hashirama. The only one that could stay in the same ring is Kabuto and thats only because he can summon buttloads of people including Madara.

1. Hashirama and Edo madara
2. Madara and BM Naruto
Soon Naruto will surpass Hashirama (and Edo Madara) and become the strongest shinobi ever alive! And that on such young age (17)!

I for one never judge by power showing. To me top ninja isn't all strength rather strategy, logic and use of jutsus of course. I found that Kakashi is a brilliant "fight strategist". I find him a one of the Top Ninjas, saying this of course as a fan, but still with the amount of chakra (small) he has he can really knows how to make the best use of his techniques rather than rushing out the big moves from the start.
