If they're not getting paid proportionally to the ratings they draw in the same way that the men do, I'd call that a case for wage discrimination

I.e. if the men are drawing, say, 30 million views, and can expect to make an average of $300,000 annually, then if the women are pulling in 10 million views, they should expect an average of $100,000 annually, no?

Otherwise, yeah, I don't really see how you can be making contracts with money that doesn't exist

Well, women's football is not as famous as men's football, so of course there is less money in the system itself. Doesn't change the fact that the amount of money used in the football-/sports-industry is ridiculously high and should be drastically reduced. No human on earth should get paid with millions of dollars/euro. Not a business-person, not a politician and for sure not athletes. But that's another issue.

I'd like to see gender-mixed teams in sports. Would be way more fun tbh.

Eh, when you're talking a profession that requires like, constant physical strain, minimal time for family, the risk of serious injury, which many other industries are dependent upon by proxy for revenue, I guess it makes se-ah wait, am I describing sports players, or manual laborers? :wut:

(Not making fun of the athletes themselves, I recognize that athletes are a source of serious inspiration for others, are honestly marvels of human capacity, have tangible impacts on a lot of people, and that a lot of that money gets funneled back into things like philanthropy and whatnot. But the industry is kind of silly, yeah.)

At the bolded part athlete's should be paid based on how they perform simple as that. If they are performing like a million dollar athlete then they should be paid accordingly, if they are performing like a sack of shit then they get paid with a sack of shit. So many times I see million dollar contracts for 1 player alone then the player/athlete performs like a $2 hooker.

I know that these businesses make a lot of money, but people shouldn't have so much money. And even if there were people who deserve it, it would be doctors, nurses, police(wo)men, firefighters. well, that's just the way world works. Anyone can be a doctor or a cop. Not everyone has the talent to be good at sports or sing or act..etc. Life is unfair get used to it.
