There are so many heartbreaking backstories to count in Naruto. When we see what some of these characters have endured, I'm sure most of us have taken a trip to onion town at least once. Which 5 characters' backstories impacted you the most emotionally and struck you as being the saddest? Here are my top 5.

2.Gaara
3.Sasuke

It's a fair contest between Gaara and Sasuke because both of them should have been insane by age 13 but only one was.

They're about the same level but from different aspects. Gaara still received acceptance. So his is last for me.

Sasuke's whole clan was slain, no doubt. But at least Sasuke experienced good memories before the massacre. What did Gaara enter life with?

1. Birthed as a tool of war/political power
2. Being called a demon
3. No one would acknowledge him
4. Hated by his father, born a Jin because of his father
5. His uncle tried to kill him. His uncle hated him
6. Not even Temari, or Kankuro liked his ass. His own damn sibilings
7. He became a narcissist because he didn't, and couldn't understand what love was

Tell me Sasuke even comes close to that type of malevolent childhood. Not even close.

Definitely read this to understand why Gaara is by far the most tragic character in the manga.

Kakashi grew up alone with no1 like Sasuke.
Naruto grew up alone but had folks lookin out for him.
Nagato was on the run his intire life with a doujutsu that wasn't his to keep..
Anybody in Orochi's lab had a tragic backstory..

That's what im saying. They were even kids , you wouldnt be afraid?That doesnt mean they disliking him or hated him. I alrdy said this and they were evening following fathers orders.

I believe Haku had a pretty rough life all his clansmen were killed in fear of their power and his own father killed his mother for protecting Haku just because he found his son has a kekkai genkai and in self defense Haku killed his own dad, on top of that he died at an early age

Itachi chose to be a mindless puppet in Konoha's dirty schemes. It's jis fault for making Sasuke go down that dark path and suffer.
