When you say current, idk what Kabuto is doing on that list. Current Kabuto (even if he wasn't koed) is as weak as he was before absorbing Orochimaru... If he can still use DSM without Orochimaru's chakra, then answer this for me. Why did his DSM disperse once Orochimaru took his chakra back?

There could be two reasons.
1)He literally needs Orochimaru's power to activate DSM.
2)He can activate it without Orochimaru's chakra, but his own chakra isn't strong enough. Which is why he needed to absorb Orochimaru before being able to use DSM. Remember, one needs a large chakra pool to be able to activate any form of Sage Mode.
