Naruto definitely got stronger, but people still thinks he is at the level he was during the war, where he fought as soon as he received the power up. He didn't even have time to master his KCM, BM or BSM. That's why he started learning more skills throughout the war as he fought. There's no way he could've mastered a power in a day's time.

Now he actually had time to master his modes and skills. Just like how he can now skillfully control rasenshuriken in base and how he can move more easily at high speed. He could only use his speed in short bursts before.
