Hey there. If you haven't finished the original TG manga yet, don't read any further!

So the regular Tokyo Ghoul is one of the best manga I've ever read, but after Kaneki "died" I quit. Like I never even tried "Re" because I couldn't deal with Kaneki's "death". People told me that he is in "Re", but not like he was before so I just want to know if Tokyo Ghoul Re is worth picking up and if Kaneki is really "back"?

I guess so. I have to re-read RE. I stopped reading at chapter 20 i believe.

Kaneki needs to come back, to his old self. Not feeling RE

I was kinda disappointed of RE for the same reason as you, so it took me quite some time to pick up the manga again. Don't wanna spoil anything, but you won't be disappointed if you get to understand the current plot of the story.

Okay guys. So I should pick it up?

How many chapters does it currently have, and when do they usually release? And also how long do you think this will be going?

If you are only reading for one character in this case Kaneki, get the fek out. Tokyo Ghoul still amzing, it's call development.

I'm not reading it only for Kaneki. It's just that his death was the reason I didn't bother to read "Re" yet. But things change, I just didn't see any appeal.

its currently on 42. and if you're looking for Kaneki you might be disappointed because Kaneki is basically gone now. He is called Haise and Kaneki is just an inner ghoul personality like how Rize was an inner ghoul consciousness in part 1

The death of Kaneki was never intended to be the end of him in the manga itself, it is what Ishida said way back. Kaneki lives in RE and the manga currently is going very well. The characters are tied between new and old, and learning both ways will give kaneki far more depth to his character, even more than he had before. The manga itself was slow a first, but to be honest, so was the original at some points of the story. Everytime we get a clm chapter it usually is where we get more character depth and Ishida is just making Kaneki far and far more complicated. You need to check it out, not just ebcause the manga is very good, but also because you learn to fall again in love with kaneki's character and understand other motives or possibly who he should be. I highly recommend it.
