Wind in a physical sense is the result of changes in air density and temperature. As air warms up it rises, but this rising air is then replaced by cooler and more dense air. The act of this cooler more dense air replacing the warm air is what creates wind.

As shinobi we use wind to preform various types of jutsu. It can be used to manipulate the path of projectiles, to blow away incoming attacks, slice through hard material, or blow the opponent away. It can also be used to push yourself out of the way of an incoming attack.

In terms of strengths and weaknesses it is especially strong against lightning, meaning a lower rank wind attack can match a higher ranked lightning attack. However it is extremely weak against fire. A wind ability of similar strength to an incoming fire ability will do nothing but strengthen the fire ability.

*walks over to the edge of the moutain top where there are strong winds and sits and meditates as the wind blows around me. As the wind blows around me I use my own chakra to feel the wind and to try and manipulate/absorb the properties of the wind*
