It's been a while since we've seen some real epic action, and I think Gai's final attack really took the cake. It was almost as awesome as Hashirama's Shinsuusenju. It was also really cool seeing the first meeting between Gai and Kakashi, and the White Fang and Dai.
For Madara to acknowledge Gai as the best Taijutsu fighter he's ever faced was a bit shocking, since aside from Hashirama he never gave respect to anyone else, making Gai a true legend and a hero.
Back when he defeated Kisame, I was in disbelief that someone like Gai managed to do so, and thought it was really because of Kisame's handicap of not possessing Samehada at the time, but after this chapter, it really quelled any doubts about that fight and Gai's victory.
I know many people are disappointed because they believe that he will survive, but I think he's only going to say his last words and then die.
Even if he doesn't die, I doubt he'd ever be able to fight again. A nice trade-off either way I think.
Also, Gai is really adorable as a kid. "Thanks for Cheering!"
