I never thought that Tobi=Obito. All those theories I have read on different forums are just not providing adequate reasons to supplement their statements.
I have read some Tobi=Izuna theories and they are way better then Tobi is that little brad of a cunt Obito. (Obito fan boys dont be mad at me)
But you sir have provided a very good link of a very objective dude who writes an substantial bloody good theory to the point that I all almost cant deny that Tobi is the Elder son. This has changed my mind. And I was so sure it was Izuna, but I am a open minded Dutch smoker. So I just go with the best theory.
And besides all theories, wouldn't it be awesome that that Tobi=the elder son.
And if so, Kishi is a genius in misguiding his readers. And that is what keeps me reading the manga.

1 and 2 are VERY close, had Itachi still been around, I'd have Shisui in the lead, but since we won't be seeing those two have a confrontation, I'd prefer it be Obito. Kakashi's "eyes" are in for one hell of a "reunion"...see what he just did right there? Muahahahaha!

This would mean Obito was killed by the large rock right? His eye would definately be crushed. Not to mention the rest of him was entombed. How are you gonna find the dead boys location to collect his eye, huh?
We all KNOW thats Obito's eyes shared by Kakashi and Tobi. We know how Kakashi got his. We are speculating how Tobi got his and the only possible answers when you look at it objectively are A.) Obito did not die, but survived and phased through the rock (with or without himself knowing it) or B.) Tobi was a character that was present during that fight and came back to take the eye.
Just had a thought. The grave they show in the image of Kakashi at the cemetary, is that Rins grave? or Obito's grave? Meaning did they bring Obito's body back?
---> Tobi stated he got the eye at the battle of the bridge so that must be Rins grave and Obito was left their buried under the rubble.. Obito got his sharingan eyes at the Battle of the bridge. I am so certain thats what Tobi means.U_U

the elder son has been raised to number 2 after reading that, but i feel its still izuna. a lot of what is said in that thread can be linked to izuna as well.
what strings? there is no evidence of this in the manga. again not much is said about the elder son besides him being the more aggressive descendant.
this is one reason why ive moved him up in my list. i dont agree with the personality thing yet, but the manga stated something along the lines of "peace through power and strength" at some point.
we have seen many people in naruto die and come back - oro is the most recent example. even madara is HUGE example. he was dead, and now hes alive again. as i said before, it is POSSIBLE that madara could have revived izuna using edo tensei himself and showed him how to release it - which is how madara knows how to release edo tensei.
again its all speculation of course...but your guess is as good as mine.
being madara's brother, and the person who helped train him, isnt just a "random" uchiha. i find izuna just as interesting as the elder son...well not quite. since i believe tobi = izuna, i find izuna more interesting.
but to your comment i could also say this:
"Let's see... the greatest mystery in this manga is just a random Uchiha [the elder son] whose only job was to create the hatred that exists today inside the uchiha. Nice story writing... I am impressed..."

we all will have our belief until someone provides unarguable evidence or the manga says it.i still prefer a combo of madara/tobi/oro as the final villain and then naruto and sasuke save the day - together.
if it turns out to be obito - that is the worst way to do it. just like how you dislike the izuna theory, i dislike the obito theory (at least as it is shown currently). the eye helps the situation, but if someone tries to prove tobi = obito saying their names are similar, ill just have to do this: :sy:
my theory for the knowledge of the past and everything is what was written in that uchiha tablet, which is supposed to be secretive.
you said "mastery over sharingan". who is the most feared uchiha in history that we started this war? (Madara). who trained with madara (on equal level as far as we know) and was second in command to the uchiha clan in the past? (Izuna)

when you say it like that, yes it makes my point look weak. xD but in the link you provided to the other forum, the elder son could have more reasons for this war, but izuna makes more sense (to me). again i have the elder son as second on my list now but izuna is still first.

why does the kyuubi know "madara's chakra"? didnt tobi control him? this may prove it is more the madara/zetsu clone than anyone else. it definitely doesnt point to it being the elder son. if tobi isnt madara, why is the kyuubi able to know he was controlled by madara - especially when madara tries to summon(?) the kyuubi?
this is just a question, i dont believe tobi is madara's clone. but maybe if tobi/madara are related in someway
maybe their chakra might be similar - not sure if chakra of siblings would be similar.rahulchaudhary

why tobi is uchiha shisui:-
1.shisui lost both of his eyes and tobi also don't have his eyes.
2.shisui lost his one hand to danzou and tobi also dont have one hand which we know when he himself deattach his hand while fighting fou and torune.
3.The hairstyle and height of tobi and shisui is same.
4.There are many people who think that shisui is dead but they are wrong because there is no reason which denies or refuse the existence of shisui.when a person is dead then the corpse of the dead person is the biggest proof but there is no corpse of shisui. kabuto revives the dead peoples and kabuto himself not able to revive shisui because of lack of dna which also means shisui is alive. The three uchiha said they found the suicide note of shisui but not his dead body. Itachi himself said to sasuke that he killed shisui in order to awake ms but now we will able to know that itachi is lying to sasuke and he used all things to manipulate sasuke. so i said it earlier that there is no reason which denies or refuse the existence of shisui which means that shisui exists.
5.Tobi controls the fourth mizukage yagura,now the only uchiha in history which can control the people like that is uchiha shisui because lady mizukage himself said to danzou when he used shisui's eye that there is some relation b/w the jutsu u use and the one which is used to control yugara. During this period shisui fought with A0 who knew his colour of chakras
6.Remember the most important thing is that tobi never comes in front of A0 because A0 knew shisui's chakra. At the five kage summit tobi comes in when A0 leaves and run after danzou. So A0 and tobi never face each other.
7.Akatsuki origins- tobi(shisui) himself tried to control and seal all the nine tail beasts but he fails which we know because he tries to control and seal the three tails which escapes to sea and he failed. tobi decided to form a organisation to seal all the nine tail beasts and kisame is the first member of akatsuki(except tobi and zetsu).
8.obito's eye- shisui lives in konoha so he may know kakashi and guy very well. so there are many ways by which shisui can get obito's eye but here i will demonstrate to you one of the easiest way. we know that shisui can enter other peoples mind and manipulate them and the person himself not able to know it. shisui may involve in a fight alongside with kakashi and guy. then shisui able to realise that kakashi sharingan possess special abilities like copying abilities etc.so shisui want to know how he got that sharingan then shisui simply enter into kakashi's mind and know it, kakashi is not even able to realise it that shisui entered his mind. So somehow shisui got obito's eye.
9. Now shisui has three eyes, two of his own and one of obito. If two peoples are friends then it does not mean that they are of same age.More important remember the three uchihas that came to itachi, one important thing i notice about them is that they called itachi a brat and have no respect for itachi in their heart. on the other hand the three uchihas respects shisui soo much and consider shisui most talented and most devotee to uchiha clan. the three uchihas even said to itachi that shisui is like elder brother to you so i have no doubt in my mind that shisui is older than itachi and it is self evident.

Finally, it has happened!! Next week we will see Tobi's face!! I have watched this series so long and have seen so many theories but now which theory will be right?! I am betting it is Madara Uchiha's brother Izuna!!!!!
I've gone with Izuna for a while, but now I'm leaning towards Obito. Kakashi was thinking about the tombstone where Obito's name was carved in. Seems like a strong hint to me.

I would love for it to be Obito but so many things that are out of place with that theory.
It's either Izuna, Kagami or Obito(hopefully) in some way.

The body of tobi is a total combination.
From an uchiha - obito
Who'se body has been crashed
From a senju - nawaki
Who'se body has been mutilated too
And of course zetsu - Obviously
That explains how tobi can use sharingan and rinnegan
Im quite sure of that.
As for the persona of tobi, he may be only a container or a vessel for a
Former naruto character. It may be the soul of izuna or kagami or whoever it is.
But i firmly believe tobi is created to be just a vessel

Remember Kisame recognized Tobi after showing him his face??? He was shocked it was actually him...and what did he refer him to? That's right. MIZUKAGE! Was Izuna or the Uchiha ancestor a Mizukage at one point? Hmm...I think not.
