I have to say I must applaud Kishi for keeping me clueless for so long.
Until chapter 599, I was convinced that Tobi was still partially Madara for the simple reason that he had eye lines seemingly identical to those Madara has:
TOBI:
MADARA:
Now obviously we could see that Tobi had additional eye lines, but that was easily explained my Tobi being very old and suffering additional lines over time.
Note how Kishi cleverly covered Tobi's forehead in each instance and made sure the left side of his face was un-noticable. Because of this, we had absolutely no reason to doubt that Tobi was actually Madara, or at least hold out hope that he was still partially Madara or was using his body or something like that (since Edo only requires a person's DNA and soul, not their actual body).
Kishi knew that if we saw even a hint of scaring on his forehead or a lack of lines on his left side, that we would immediately get suspicious. But by only showing us his right eye and cheek, it was easy for us to make a connection to Madara and have no idea it was actually Obito with scaring from being crushed.
Bottom line, I wanted to thank Kishi for making such a great mystery that I had absolutely zero chance of solving. He had me fooled the whole way and now that I'm over the whole Tobi is Obito thing, I have high hopes for the future of this manga. xd :ice:
