Tobi's eyes....

I just thought of something... isn't it weird that one of tobi's eyes are sharingan and one is rinnengan, when we've all seen in the manga that the rinnengan is just a more superior and evolved version of EMS... Just thought it was kind of weird that he would have one eye that is inferior when he could just have two rinnengan??

Well the Rinnegan and the Sharingan have different abilities.

So by having both at the same time, he can use both at the same time.

he needs sharingan to control the beasts as far as i know he didnt evole his eyes like madara so he cant switch back and forth

maybe he wanted the rinnengan to control gedo and his own sixth path of pain and the sharingan to read or copy an opponents movement:shrug:

I am thinking he has both for the different abilities they both posses. Most likely his space time jutsu is tied to his sharingan or maybe he has more sharingan techs to use that's why he keeps it.
Or Maye he needs it to cast the genjutsu for his moon's eye plan.
Honestly we won't know till it is revealed, but Tobi is a smart dude and I am sure there is a reason for it.

Sharingan evolved Rinnegan is still a mystery. The Sharingan could retain his normal abilities such as his Space/Time Migration Jutsu and/or Intangible Jutsu which could be why he kept the Sharingan or the usage of both Rinnegan and Sharingan is part of his plan.

For the abilities that Sharingan and Rinnegan that differ. I guess it makes Tobi feel like he is the SO6P, having abilities of both the Sharingan and the Rinnegan.

no he pretty much needs the sharingan to control the beasts and the rinnegan for its awesomeness like i stated madara can switch back and forth due to the fact he had evolved his eye from ems to rinnegan so he can use the abilities of both . Tobi stole all his eyes and may not even be an uchiha so he has to have one of each to use both kinds of eyes hope that helps you

I don'tthink he needs sharingan to control the beasts, yes madara controlled the nine tails with his sharingan, but tobi has all the bijuus sealed under his will in the demonic statue, so I don't believe it's for that purpose

While the Rinnegan is superior to the Sharingan, as the users above have pointed out, both have different abilites (i.e. Sharigan = Control of Tailed Beasts | Rinnegan = Six Paths); So he simply opted to keep both.

That may be true; perhaps keeping the Sharingan was just a failsafe; in case the tailed beasts were ever to slip out of his control, even if it was only momentarily - He'd still have the Sharingan to put them back under his control. But then, this is only a theory.
