[Theory] Tobi's and Madara's original plan

I was thinking of an idea that might make sense for the use of Rinne Tensei and what Tobi and Madara was planning on doing with it

As we all know, Rinne Tensei revives people by putting their souls back into their original bodies. Something like Edo Tensei on the other hand, attaches a soul to a living victim that would then take the likeness of that victim with dirt and debris

Thinking of Edo Tensei then gave me an idea, what if you could use Rinne Tensei to put a soul of someone into another living person or corpse? If such a thing was possible, it would make sense for Tobi to say that he is "incomplete"

Tobi may be an different person, but maybe in his mind the only way he could become "complete" was for him to combine his soul with Madara's to become more powerful than he is now. That's possibly why Madara wanted to die, so that he could come back in a more powerful form in a younger person's body

But that idea also made me think of why exactly Tobi wanted Sasuke, and that me wonder whether Tobi wanted to use Rinne Tensei to revive Madara into Sasuke's dead body instead of himself. Why you ask? So that Madara could have a much younger corpse that wasn't severely mutated like Tobi, had EMS, and had the potential to unlock the Rinnegan

This is all of course assuming that you can use Rinne Tensei on a different corpse or a living person. So what do you guys think?

Possible, but somehow flaw. I think, if not mistaken, that Rinne Tensei only revives someone back who has currently dead within a set amount of time. I say this because Nagato mentioned this to Naruto when Naruto ask for Jiraiya's restoration.

Your theory suggest that Tobi must be holding Madara in the Rinne Tensei for later revival also Kishi must be saying the exact same thing. These means it is somewhat of a drawback of Tobi's Plans because of Kabuto's revival of Madara via Edo Tensei. However, he could use the power of the Rinnegan's Preta Realm to take Madara's soul again and finish the process which then somewhat makes your theory understandable and/or plausible. Yeah, it seems right. I thought about the same thing, but never had enough information at the time until now. It is always simpler to understand when it is written/type instead of thinking. +Reps (Thank You)

No I don't think so, Good theory, but madara revived in his body, looked at his body and said "Nagato has grown" Or something like that, also in those bodies he wouldn't have mokuton release, and he seems to be having a lot of fun with that
Also his original body is said to have had the strongest chakra the clan has ever seen.

Actually that's taking over someone's body and suppressing their soul, and both users are alive. It's called Living Corpse Reincarnation, and it could also be what Tobi is using to stay alive

Thank You, and I think I have an answer for why Jiraiya was revived. First of all, Nagato never said anything about a time limit, Jiraiya just wasn't revived and Naruto really didn't question it

With that being said, since Rinne Tensei seems to auto heal you when your revived, you can continue on living without that life threatening injury that you received when you were killed

In Jiraiya's case, if he was revived and auto healed, he would have immediately died afterwards due to the fact that his corpse was at the bottom of an ocean (and I don't think Nagato would want to revive him into another corpse). For a lack of a better term on my part, he would have been "spawn killed". So that's why I think Jiraiya couldn't be revived by Nagato, not because of a time limit

It would make sense if Tobi wanted his body for that reason, but unfortunately it would require Sasuke to die, since I doubt he would willingly participate in this revival of Madara. And since Sasuke also has a large plot shield like Naruto, I don't think this would actually happen. I think Tobi would just try to do it and fail

I never said that Tobi also had Madara's soul. I said Tobi may have wanted to try to combine his soul with Madara's soul to make himself "complete". I know it sounds messed up, but that's what I believe he wanted to do

That is of course unless he wanted to progress Sasuke to the Rinnegan, kill him, and then put Madara's soul into Sasuke's corpse, which should work in theory. Although I don't think that would happen because of the plot
