To start of with my theories..let me show you some of the pics where tobi uses his unique ability.
Tobi dodges sasuke's sword strike
Tobi teleports in a flick of a rain drop..poof
Tobi played with team naruto..making their attacks and jutsus pass through him

All right..i think its time for the theories to be told.
first of all..the so called " Madara's Teleporting Technique "
"Madara is able to teleport himself or anyone he touches to another location in an instant. Kakashi Hatake likens it to the Flying Thunder God Technique because of its time and space manipulation, but notes Madara's version to be much more versatile. The ability can be used without predefined locations and without hand seals. It can also be used to transport only parts of Madara's body elsewhere, leaving him visible to opponents but impervious to attack"
first of my theories..i think madara's ability is some sort of like a interstellar teleportation which teleports people and/or other objects over interstellar distances instantaneously. In some cases the matter of the physical person or object is scanned or disassembled at the point of departure and information is transmitted so that the person or object may be reassembled at the point of arrival. involves a "spatial coordinate remapping" whereby a distant location is remapped to a location adjacent to the point of departure.
This assumes existence of two coordinate systems in space: one "real" and one "relative"
i think this ability is how madara is able to dodge attacks , void body parts , object phasing and instantenous movement.
another theory is that we can assume here is in science fiction. they use some sort of object in a way that this object can create a wormhole or a portal to travel instantaneously. i think that theorizing it here in naruto. the object is madara's mask. if you like at the 8th picture i posted..look how the mask forms sort of like a warp..but i guess people assumes it started from his sharingan eye.
another theory is that maybe tobi's ability is the so called "omnipresence"
in this part ill connect the three divine attributes to the three doujutsu's in the naruto world.
Rinnegan = Omnipotence
Rinnegan is the most revered and, according to Fukasaku, the most powerful of all the three great doujutsu. in addition to enabling the user to quickly master various jutsu, the user may also use all forms of chakra nature manipulation, it also allows the user to use all of the six paths techniques
Omnipotence ("all power") is unlimited power.
connecting it is how the rinnegan user. Nagato is capable of using all kinds of jutsu's in the naruto world.
Byakugan = Omniscience
Byakugan is the primary focus of the Hyuga's special arts. When the Byakugan is activated, their pupils become more distinct, and the veins near their temples bulge. Once active, the Byakugan gives the user a near 360? field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra. They also have the ability to see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight. one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, as well as the chakra circulation system inside another's body. The Byakugan also has the ability to see what a person's chakra type is by looking into someone's chakra points
Omniscience is the capacity to know everything infinitely, or at least everything that can be known about a character including thoughts, feelings, life and the universe, etc
connecting omniscience to byakugan..hyuuga clan..by using byakugan are able to see where each chakra point on the body is, to be able to know where a seal is on a tree, or rock far away. gives them a really wide field of vision
Sharingan = Omnipresence
well in this part..not connecting it to the history of the sharingan..i put here the facts given by itachi to sasuke where the sharingans final secrets is to be unlocked if you will obtain the EMS. and thus it is omnipresence
Omnipresence is roughly described as the ability to be present in every place at any, and/or every, time - referring to an unbounded or universal presence.
