I was wondering about this and came to this conclusion. Minato was known as konohas yellow flash who made use of Hiraishin and was ended the ninja war. whenever it was talked about flying thunder god, it was associated with minato. And now Tobirama suddenly has FTG too? while i think that minato maybe based his ftg on tobiramas space time ninjutsu (he referred to tobiramas s/t ninjutsu by tobi), i think as he was most reputed for his flying thunder got, he surpassed tobirama definitely.

Yeah, I agree. Tobirama probably invented the technique, but Minato perfected it.

Like edo tensei or Rasengan

Tobirama created Edo Tensei, Kabuto perfected it

Minato Created Rasengan, Naruto perfected it

nO, Tobirma invented the ftg and mastered it, to one level. Minato took it, mastered it, thn took it 2 the next level by incorporating it into his kunai and seals. It's like Rasengan, minato made it, perfected it, but Naruto took it 2 the next level.

Tobirama's was never heard in manga for his FTG.
But its true that he invented it and certainly primitive than minato's.
I wonder how strong will Tobirama be with his FTG ??!!!
(Definitely he is not gonna use edo tensei :p )

It would be perfect if he did not need his kunai's anymore and could just zapp all over the place.

he doesnt need the kunai he needs the mark seal its just that the kunai gets marked so he can you use ftg anytime in battle

this is also what makes me think that tobiramas ftg doesn't have great range and it may be a lineal move as he was never known for ftg and minato was and im sorry if you can ftg with out the need for seal marks than how would he ever lose to 20 elite ninja when minato with his ftg was able to take down 50 ninja and was feared for ftg

This.

It seems to be a recurring theme in the series.

For example, Minato created Rasengan. Naruto perfected it and mastered it to the next level (Futon: Rasenshuriken).
Kakashi created Chidori, but Sasuke was able to master this technique in various ways (Chidori Senbon, Chidori Sword).
Tobirama created Edo Tensei, but Orochimaru and Kabuto ended up mastering it to a higher degree.

If we apply the same logic, then Minato's FTG would be an improvement over Tobirama's. For all we know, Tobirama may indeed have better S/T jutsu and Minato might not have had the time to master it to that level. However, I think it seems that Minato adapted and perfected the technique by using seals and kunai to increase his range.

So in conclusion Lord Madara>Sasuke.

AGreed....XD

on topic:

Minato might have perfected it... and we haven't seen the mechanism of Tobirama's version, that 'll also help us for this argument..

It would be perfect if he did not need his kunai's anymore and could just zapp all over the place.

then if he uses it efficiently he will probably be much more difficult to defeat . probably more difficult than defeating hashi =D

I think they are on the same level, but are used in different ways. For example, Minato most likely can use it quicker and more precisely through his kunai, while tobirama can use it in the heat of battle without seals, somehow in the form of an attack.

Not only does the lack of seals make his movement unpredictable (in theory) but it also allows him to damage solid objects in a almost instantaneous fashion.

is it possible that minato may be able to ftg with out seals as he was able to teleport kurama quite some distance and i dont recall seeing any seals in the area and it may take more chakra for him to do so but he may have had places prepped so its just a thought

I'm sorry but i'll have to disagree with what you're saying... i STRONGLY DISAGREE. Firstly i don't know where you people get the idea that Tobirama created the FTG, it has never been mentioned in the manga , unfortunatley i formated my pc so i can't search for the page, but it clearly stated... and i quote, "The yellow flash of the leaf is created the Flying ThunderGod technique and with it nobody could defeat him" unquote!!!!!
