Hashirama died some time after the founding of Konoha in one of the many wars that were raging during this revolutionary era, but not before passing on the title of Hokage to Tobirama.

Tobirama died fighting the Kinkaku force.

the bro's weren't there, just beause something is called the kinkaku force it doesn't imply kinkaku. tobirama only fought them once, with kakuzu and he survived.
