Tobirama WHY?

I have seen a few theories on why tobirama created edo they mainly consist of girlfriend,wife and loved ones lost.

My theory is because Hashirama was called the God of Shinobi and we know how people like to talk about people who have done crazy things maybe a bit of jealousy crept into tobirama hearing that Hashi can do this and Hashi can do that.

Brothers as we know can be very envious of what the other brother has. Hashi had alot of rep and respect.You never know tobirama at a yonger age, we do stupid things to impress people and maybe thats why he told hashi to shut up about it cause he doesn't want people to know he was vain

So if Tobirama could raise the dead he thought would be on par with Hashi and get the rep and respect he thought he wanted cause every one knows who created edo and to prove to himself that he could do it.(in no way do i think Tobirama>Hashirama or even on par)

But now and my most likely theory
2) to have more power if needed to defend the leaf but saw the consequences and made it a forbidden jutsu

I doubt it had to do with jealously....he clearly was pro village and not pro-Tobirama

I imagine it was to bring back a lost loved one or Izuna in order to form a pact with Madara.

Tobirama probably founded edo tensei to use the dead during wars by sacrificing enemy shinobi. that is the only thing i can think of. His foresight is much greater than Hashirama's as he predicted the coup of the Uchiha decades before it had actually happened. He was a genius. His sense of justice is currently old fashioned- destroy enemies of the village but at some he also had feelings like Hashirama, who wanted to unite the villages.

Just think what the battle field must have felt like in those days when Hashirama and Tobirama ran into battle together. Those two are good enough to take out platoons of shinobi.

There are only 2 legitimate causes, fyi Tobirama isnt the jealous type.

1) To retrieve important intel from comrades who died before there time.
2) To use as a defense of the village if push came to shove, since push never came to shove it was never used, and then later on classified as a forbidden jutsu and locked up.

Edo tensi was used during the time of the second hokage the other kage know of his technique and rambled about it a bit when they were summoned on the battle field.

I kind of think he planned on the Uchiha acting out and dieing then he could send them back out to battle like a edo army or use them the edos to police the village without worry of revolt.

I doubt it had anything to do with jealousy, it just seems like the type of person Tobirama is to create a jutsu like this. His views seem to be to protect the village no matter what and this would be one of the safest ways to be able to enter battles without any casualties. Nice theory though as this manga does focus on brothers a lot.
