Where does this fit in. Madara is wearing the leaf headband, he hasnt left leaf yet. Until him overhearing tobirama and hashi he seemed to be getting along well, and after hearing in on them his mind changed. But here we can see he didn't seem to be too fond of hashi...

So whats going on in all this.

I personally think Madara was going to leave leaf anyways and was sticking around with hashi for other reasons, maybe tryna get a lil sumtin sumtin. .cells

I think he defected after that moment. This picture must have taken place between the moment when Tobirama was talking to Hashirama about not making Madara hokage in chapter 625, and the page when Madara actually left the village.

So yes, he would have had to stay in the village a while if he had hostility towards Hashirama (because they were like best buddies again when talking about what to name the village). I'm guessing he stayed for a few months after he overheard their talk and then left when the Uchiha clan abandoned him.
