After getting some Lv2 Flying Thunder God feats do you think that Tobirama could take Gai in CQC?

I see Gai getting tagged by Tobirama in base and thus losing. If Gai was just more intelligent and had info and understanding on how the FTG works; I'd say Gai would take it with his unsurpassed striking speed and capability in coping with high speed movements.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out how FTG works and Guy does have knowledge on certain jutsu such as the 4 red yang formation barrier

But yeah I do see Him getting tagged and eventually succumbing to the FTG slash

Info was set to none by the OP. With no intel on FTG, it won't be hard for Tobirama to catch base Gai off guard with FTG V2 and tag him which pretty much ends the match right there.

Basically this. It's all a question of Tobirama using his Kage Bushin in conjunction with FTG to sample Gai's strengths and try to outlast the seventh gate. It's his only real method of withstanding the eight gates.

And I don't have any doubt Tobirama would still be able to tag Gai when he's in the gates.

Tobirama would never be able to place his hand on Gai if given full knowledge on FTG

It would be wise for Tobirama not to repeat Kisame's mistake. Though we all know Kisame was only fighting at 0.3%.

See the thing many do not see is the fact that Gai>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tobirama in Taijutsu/Close combat. He would never let any ninja land a touch if it can be avoided (that is his style of fighting). So to think he will get tagged easily before seeing FTg would be foolish.

Tobirama only needs to parry an attack to mark him.

Just like Madara who couldn't get marked and Out classed him in Taijutsu (no Sharingan), Tobirama hasn't shown any close combat elite skills. Gai did not once get touched by Obito (elite sharingan user). So to think Tobirama would easily mark him in close combat would be foolish.

Outclassed? He blocked one attack, then used a deva path ability to freeze him in mid-air. Not to mention he only narrowly dodged because of sage mode. And just lol that you would even bring up Obito, considering every time he was about to hit Gai he got attacked by someone else and had to phase though it. No, I think it's more valid to consider Kisame's ease in overpowering Gai in Taijutsu. Note that Kisame hasn't displayed nearly as strong reactions or speed (though of course his strength was largely responsible.). You're forgetting that Gai has no knowledge of Hirashin marks, and the fact Tobirama needs only graze by him to mark him.

Kisame vs Gai's taijutsu skirmish was vastly different; it was a battle of strength; not speed.

Gai blocked the punch; since Kisame was physically stronger he was able to push him down. A horsefly is faster than a piece of rock yet it can't carry it; same thing happened to Gai. They merely exchanged blows since Gai did not have knowledge on Kisame having an unnatural strength which is normal considering there are not much ninja that can best him in strength and he could not guess it.

OT: This battle depends on intel; going gates from get go might tilt the battle in his favor. Though even without it; i don't think Gai would go down so easily.

Future Lee solos.

What state are they in? If they are in Ohio then Tobirama takes it. In Florida or New York, Guy takes it

I already said this. My point is that Gai wasn't able to dodge Kisame's blows. If any skirmish of any kind were to take place Tobirama can easily mark him.
