Yea yea i know we've never seen the actually tobirama fight but were going off their abilities here...
Tobirama IS the best waterstyle user ever(i dont wanna hear noting about kisame or mei. Yea they can use water anywhere but only out of their mouth, tobirama can use the water from the air around him to make large scale and high level water jutsu anywhere and use it from his mouth). He can counter all of Madara's high level fire style jutsu quicker then any other water style user because he can do his jutsu by using considerably less hand signs then any other. Even with madara's sharingan in ninjutsu tobirama has a clear advantage.
In taijutsu madara has the clear advantage over tobirama because of sharingan. Unfortuanty for tobirama he can grow wood from his body so he wont be able to catch madara by surprise.
In genjutsu id put them at about even, only because genjutsu isnt likey from madara and he's less likely to hit tobirama with it since he's been fighting uchiha's most of his life(Senju an Uchiha war). And the bringer of darkness genjutsu will put even a uchiha at a disadvantage.
Counters for advantages
Suasnoo will give madara a clear advantage over tobirama. Tobirama's only chance against this we know of is to change the battlefeild to a ocean so he has a feild advantage and move faster above and under the battlefeild, and use bringer of darkness to cut off suasnoo's vision.
Madara can use probably a simple suasnoo rib cage to defend against attacks coming from directions he can see when he's in bringer of darkness, and try to lure tobirama in and use suasnoo's wide range attacks to stop bringer of darkness.
Madara has no counter ninjutsu wise for tobirama except to use suasnoo to defend, his firestyle wont beat tobirama's waterstyle.
Tobirama has no counter in taijutsu for madara's sharingan skills, he can counter all of tobirama attacks and use suasnoo at anytime.
The advantage here that hashirama had that tobirama doesnt have is the way they use their style. Tobirama cant control his water like hashirama can control his wood as far as we know. He can manipulate it to move like hashirama's wood, which will most likely be Tobirama's doenfall. Hashirama wood can be used as a restraint and to attack and defend. Tobirama's water can only be used offensively and defensely, unless he can use ice aswell....damit i meant to check that out before i posted this...**** o well.
