Tobirama not knowing how to release himself from Edo Tensei

Would it be a glaring plothole if Tobirama who created the jutsu in the first place doesn't know how to release himself from Edo Tensei while Madara does?

I wouldn't find it fair. Tobirama, as the creator of the jutsu, should know all its weaknesses and ways of dispelling it. But it's all up to Kishi in the end :shrug:

Um, I don't think that's very plausible at all. But it's a different matter if he decides not to free himself rather than not knowing how to. Or if Oro imposes control on him before he gets the chance to. But I don't think he doesn't know how to free himself from his very own technique, plot hole or not.

Let's not assume Kishi is an idiot now.

No, people keep saying that because it's his jutsu he should be able to cancel it out, and every time I say "That's like saying Kakashi can cancel out Sasuke's chidori whenever he wants". I don't see Minato being able to stop a rasengan going to his gut or Madara cancelling out anyone else's Susano'o. When someone else learns a jutsu, it's their's. When they use that jutsu, they used it. If Steve Jobs was alive he couldn't just turn off all of the Apple products of the world with a flick of the finger.

Obviously. I don't even see how that would be feasible in the first place. There's no way he wouldn't know the release seal to his own creation -- it's common sense.

I agree. Did Minato even know as much as Oro did on the Reaper Death Soul jutsu? Like how Oro was able to reverse it or something like that. Did Minato even know that?

Someone create punch and someone creates superpunch.

Madara can copy techniques by watching them....Itachi knew Kabuto's whereabouts while being under his control..

It would be stupid considering what Madara has achieved. I'd only say that perhaps Orochimaru and Kabuto's progression with the Jutsu (grafting it from an incomplete form) altered the hand seals slightly. We'd then just need to know when Madara acquired these specific details regarding the mechanics of the Jutsu - was it in his heyday, or through use of Zetsu spies? Probably the former (even though he wouldn't know about possible changes with the way the technique works), but i'm just throwing things out there.
