You don't need to train to use KCM either but, if he would have used it when he was alive he wouldn't be able to use it for too long.

Minato could barely handle the Kyuubi's chakra. He commented on how heavy it was, so why do you think he could use KCM when he was alive?
(Go back and read where Kurama said that Naruto is the only one who can connect with his chakra because he has Kushina's blood (Uzumaki))

His edo state makes it possible for him to handle the chakra. The same way Madara can pull of a lot of OP techs and never tire...
