He did not do anything wrong or unjust. He is just not "exceptional" like Hashirama.
He has his own beliefs his own understanding of things aka hes a old thinker who does not believe that the world are rainbows and flowers like Hashirama or Naruto.
He is a realist and a bit of a pesimist mixed with his sense to be carefull.
Yet he was mistaken, his prejudices created a atmosphere withing the village that had some key believers (todays elders) that the Uchias are not to be trusted.
This was the seed of the things that ultimativly destroyed the Uchia.
The core of the problem was that the Uchias where doomed to betray the village from the start but not by them self but by the village it self. From the start everybody treated them as treacheros and ultimativly the Uchias had no other choice to do what they done to save them self.
I believe that the idea behind the uchia uprising was to prove their worth, they would have not destroyed the village or killed everybody they just wanted the respect and trust that they earned but never got. But they did it on the wrong way.
So if you want to blame somebody you have 4 individuals to thank for the "ploting" and 3 people for the realisation of it.
Ploting:
Hashirama by hiding the fact that Madara was still alive
Tobirama for distrusting the Uchia
Madara for not revealing him self
Obito for doing the attack on the village with the kyubbi
This all created a Ilussion that the Uchias are to blame for it
Realisation:
The Elders of Konoha for ordering the attack on the Uchia
Danzo and his shady organisation
Uchia clan for planning the rebelion that caused the finally drop in distrust
Victims:
Whole Uchia clan including Itachi and Sasuke
And the village it self because i believe that nothing i left by the ideas and morals of Hasirama the village is dark now.
Result?
The circle before the founding of the village has started again
Uchia side are Sasuke Obito and Madara
Senju side the whole village and world
in bettwen Naruto who is not just like Hashirama he has higher ideals then Hashi and will end this circle once for all times.
