Tobirama has gone but there are many unknown things

Tobirama is a great Hokage. But we were never shown all his abilities.

His fight with Kinkaku and Ginkaku was not shown. How he fought against Kinkaku force was never shown. How he died was never shown.

Whether he had sons or daughters was never shown. How he accepted his brother's death was not shown. How close he was to Mito and Tsunade was never shown. How people in general thought about him was never shown. His other important fights he most likely had were never shown. How he came up with the idea to create and how he created Edo Tensei, Kage Bunshin, Hiraishin and other Jutsu was never shown. What other important things happened while he was alive?

There is so many things we never found out about Tobirama. Do you wonder anything about Tobirama? Do you think it will be explained in the Manga? What do you think about Tobirama's role in the story?

As powerful as he is. Like Hashirama, he is a side character so it really wasn't relevant to the story to explain all that in the manga. Though with the anime you never know what they may do with their fillers. We may actually get to see this someday though highly doubtful at this point in the story.

He's a weaker but cooler looking version of minato with a meh edo tensei

I would have loved to know more about him. We know he was a strong individual who was obviously ridiculously clever and smart to develop all the forbidden jutsu he did. Him being my favorite hokage, I'm kind of disappointed that we never really got to see much of him in regards to all the questions you yourself stated.
