Not gonna go into a fell depth analysis because that would take too much time but i would like to point out a note worthy feat that some may consider not all that astonishing but believe me can make quite a difference.

(Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique was first shown being used by zabuza who performed 44 hand seals to do so and he is regarded as a fearsome shinobi himself)



That is why i believe the reason him lifting his fingers was emphasized;because he can do complex ninjustu that require over 40+ hand signs with just one hand seal.Think about it.During the heat of battle.Most shinobi probably get overwhelmed by the pure speed of his hand seal activation and then overpowered by the seemingly magically appearing volumes of water.Gaining the upper hand in a fight can be key in battle and when you have the leverage of executing torrents of high pressured water at break neck speeds and from multiple sources your bound to get the advantage.

Water doesn't just make you wet.

What happens when someone who falls from a certain altitude then hits a body of water ?
Surface tension comes into play and the person breaks bones and possibly dies.

You must take in the factor of the speed and the pressure.

And once you collide with the floor or another foreign object after being hit by a body water you experience it all over again.And if your inside a vortex you have face the problem of an under toe which will keep you in place,being crushed by the pressure and drowning.


Water ninjustu can be deadly as any other justu.


Were you referring to the fact only psychical attacks are effective against madara ?

But as for space time i have nothing besides the one S/T that was already shown which was him being able to touch the ground and sense each and all individuals in the surrounding area /:
