Or why Edo are so easy to seal once they are "rekilled". Its because if the damage on the Edo is like the damage on the same edos living body and would have killed the person if they were alive, then the Edo would momentarily stop, allowing time to seal.


But Tobirama broke this rule.

Here Tobirama is talking even though half of his brain is destroyed and hasn't regenerated. Even an Edo needs a fully regenerated Edo brain to resume thinking.

Hanzo's poison came from an implanted salamander venom sac. If Edo's didn't have organs, Hanzo wouldn't have had the venom sac, and thats how he was defeated.

Edo Tensei reanimates the user(s) whole body. The brain is still present, if they're able to talk, they can think, as talking in itself is a brain activity. Don't think the soul has anything to do with it other than reviving the dead shinobi.
