LOOKSTobimaru Aoi is a rake-thin young man with fragile hair the color of silver and eyes that appeared to glisten with a sort of primal savagery. His luscious curly hair started to fall off shortly after he filled 14, leaving him bold around the nape and crown of his head. The longest of the delicate, ashy hair strands reach just past Tobimaru's shoulders, but he normally keeps his hair in a high ponytail or a bun. Has it not for the large burn scar that stretches across his right cheek and a blank sightless eye, one could even consider Tobimaru to be handsome. He wears a slightly oversize pale-blue yukata with a crest with no particular meaning to him and a yellow haggard scarf. Under his yukata, he wears a black wool half-turtleneck and baggy black pants that do not reach his ankles.
PERSONALITY
Tobimaru Aoi is a silent, elusive man. He spent the majority of his life in solitude, and as a consequence, he rarely seeks the company of other humans. He enjoys the peace and safety of his loneliness, but he is also troubled by it. At times, he feels as if the isolation is eating away his sanity. There is both kindness and ruthlessness in Tobimaru. As he approaches merchants and wandering travelers that mean no harm to him, his movements become gentle, and his voice warms up. However, Tobimaru spends most of his time clenched, in silent, corroding fear, expecting an attack that would take his life. Although this skill saved his life countless times before, it also kept him away from bonding with others and finding a light that would lead him outside the darkness where he now finds comfort. Still, there was always something that pulled Tobimaru towards the dark.

Tobimaru Aoi was left in an orphanage in Land of Fire when he was only a baby. When he turned 13, he decided to leave the orphanage and pursue his dream of becoming a ninja. However, the world outside of the orphanage was harsh, and it had very little patience for Tobimaru's dreams. He turned 14 alone, beaten up by thieves who stole almost all his savings and possessions. Hungry and miserable, he wandered from place to place in search of food and safety. One night, somehow, he got caught in a crossfire when two ninjas fought each other. Tobimaru almost burned to death. On the edge between life and death, Tobimaru saw a man in a crimson cloak who asked him if he wanted to live. The events of that awful night are, at best, blurry in Tobimaru's memory, and he was never sure what answer he gave to the man. Nonetheless, when he woke up, Tobimaru was blind in his right eye and covered by burn scars all over his body. Everything that he had was gone- his clothes, his money, and his dignity. In the beginning, his mind did not even process that he was not in the Land of Fire anymore. Only when he escaped from the city of Dainashi and reached the snowy mountainous surface did he realize that himself.
Ever since then, Tobimaru lived on the hostile surface of Dainashi. When his hair started to fall off and gray, he simply blended in with the environment. And with time, he accepted the place where he was dragged involuntarily as his home. Tobimaru never looked for a man who saved him, nor did he attempt to remember his face. There was a part of him that feared the memory safely tucked away in the haziness of his poor memory. He feared to find out how and why he was saved. So he deliberately chooses to ignore that part of his past.
