Alot of people like me, who are enjoying the current storyline, and who think Kishi has done a good job of explaining how Obtio became Tobi, hated the revelation. This was not because we were wrong, I've gotten over that, but because of the cheap way Kishi did it.
Kishi obviously always intended for Tobi to be Obito, that's obvious now... however when he made it too obvious, he panicked, and desperately tried to find a way to keep the mystery alive. So Kishi inserted a large amount of evidence over time which seemed to make Obito being Tobi utterly impossible. This annoyed people like me, because when the reveal came, it didn't square well with the misdirection, and it felt like a cheat. Nobody likes a murder mystery when the big reveal is a cheat.
In particular, I'm talking about Kuruma apparently recognising Obito and saying "You!" during the 9 tails attack, and Obito somehow being able to take Minato at 14. The latter, while having been plausibly explained (though Obito's size is still completely off what it should be) also creates issues. How did Obito just sneak back into the village undetected? How did none of the sensors ever manage to detect his chakra over all these years (and over numerous battles) and be like "oh look, Obito is alive"? Why did Obtio have a grudge against the villages Uchiha, and help Itachi kill them all? How could Obito have been old enough to have caused the blood mist massacres over the years (the whole timeline is thrown out by this). Wasn't leaving Kakashi alive incredibly dangerous and foolish, given he had access to your dimension, and wouldn't it have been sensible to take your eye back (if you were going to the trouble of a slaughtering all the Uchiha's just to get some spare eyes, why not grab Kakashi's as well?) Just a handful of the madenning plot points made confusing by the misdirection Kishi insisted on.
